The Best Time Of The Year For A Holiday In Kenya

Although Kenya is known to be a year round destination there are most certainly better months than other to visit. Kenya has a hot, dry season between December-March. The first wet season of the year the falls in Kenya between April-June. July-September is also the cool dry season and October-November is when the short rains fall. The best time to visit Kenya is most definitely in the dry season when there are blue skies every day and the weather is hot and sunny. The weather is most reliable and all of the paths in the park are reliable.

Most people go on a safari holiday in Kenya in the dry seasons, most notably July-September when the Wildebeest migration takes place. This time of the year also coincides with the school holidays that are on in the USA & Europe. During this time Lodges in Kenya are very busy and can be booked out months in advance. Lodges like Ngong House are very popular amongst tourists and are usually the first resorts to be full up.

People choose to travel to Kenya in the dry season mainly because of the weather as a lot of the parks in Kenya become inaccessible at times due to the roads becoming flooded and impassable during the rainy season. If you have travelled to a National Park during the wet seasons in Kenya you will know what i mean. Another problem you will is the fact that the visibility is bad and seeing any sort of animals becomes very difficult and ultimately your safari holiday actually turns into a bit of a nightmare.

To avoid disappointment make sure you book to travel to Kenya in the dry season and make sure that you allow plenty of time to book your holiday to account for busy periods such as the summer holidays in the USA & Europe.
