One of the most expensive parts of the car to be repaired is the transmission. Damaging your transmission can cost several thousand dollars. The sad thing about this is that it could have been avoided.  Of course you can completely avoid all car problems. But following these 3 tips would definitely increase your chance of avoiding it.

So the first tip would be to always observe your car. This tip is free but you should always do it.What I mean when i say pay attention is to look out for leaking fluids. Are the gears shifitng roughly?  Those are signs of problems. All my clients of my Escondido auto repair always get a list of what they should look out for between maintenance.

And the second advice is also free.  It is also something you have total control of.That is, taking care of your cars by driving well.A lot of people don’t take care of their cars when they are driving and they drive it hard. They don’t realize that they need to take care of it to avoid costly problems.  A lot of the times the cars that need to be repaired in my Oceanside auto repair shop you can tell which cars weren’t taken care of.Usually, it also means that they would spend more on repairs.  So do the right thing and take care of your car.

Final tip will cost you some money. But spending money on this tip will save you more money in the long run.And that would be preventive maintenance. You must bring your car to auto shops for a regular check up.  Just like a person goes to a doctor when they are not sick.It would also apply to your cars by taking them in to keep them running smoothly.  That way you can avoid problems. And you would also be able to catch early problems.  The earlier you catch problems the less you will have to spend.

So follow these tips wisely.  It is what I give to all my clients of my Oceanside auto repair. It can make them save a lot of money on repairs.

One of the most costly to be replaced parts of your car is the transmission. Sometimes replacing the automatic transmission is more expensive than replacing the car.So having known that fact, car owners should take more care of their cars. One way you can do that is by paying attention to what’s happening to your car. What I mean to say is that there are signs to tell you if there is something going on with your transmission. Because repairing minor problems is better and cheaper than full blown damages.

First sign you can look out for is any leaking.  A lot of times I have cars brought into my Vista auto repair shop where the problem started with a simple leak.  What you are looking for is any red leaks. If you find any red fluid leaking from your car then that is your transmission fluids.  Damage happens to your transmission if you are low in fluid. If you find out that your car is leaking red fluids immediately fiill your car up with transmission fluids.  Then take it to a shop to have the leak fixed.

Another thing that you must be on the watch for are noises and vibrations coming from the transmission of your car.  From my experience running my La Costa transmission repair shop those noises are a sign of a couple of things. It could be an indication of low fluid level.Or there is also the possibility of damaged transmission cables.Immediately have your car checked by a mechanic to see if you have those kinds of transmission problems.

Last thing that you should be on the lookout for is an overheating transmission. That will be the biggest proof that your transmission is having problems. I see all the time cars brought into my La Costa auto repair shop that had that problem.  Most of the times it was brought in too late. So, instead of undergoing a minor repair only it became a major repair.

So by looking out for those signs you can avoid expensive repairs. It is a simple task and it can save you a lot on expenses and repairs.

One auto repair for your car that is very expensive is doing some transmission repair.  It is a big part of your car.  Taking care of it is very important.  By taking care of your car you can save yourself a lot of money.  Since you can’t fix it yourself here are some ways to check it at home.By doing the checking first at home, you can verify if you really need to bring it in.

First off since I own a Vista auto repair shop I know how expensive transmission repairs can be.  So I always tell my clients to check a couple of things first. This way you can verify if it has a need to be taken in.First thing they can check is the fluid. The fluid has to be clear. If the fluid is dark or black that is an indication of a problem and they have to bring their car in.

Second thing they can check at home is to check the gear shifting. You can perform this by just shifting the gears from park to drive.  Or you can move it from park to reverse. What you are trying to see is if the gears do the shifting smoothly. What you hope doesn’t happen is a jerking motion. If you notice that there is jerking, this is a bad sign that there is a problem with your transmission.  In my La Costa transmission repair shop this is one of the big signs of transmission problems.Quite a few cars that are brought in have this problem.

Finallyl what you can check for is any leaks of your transmission fluid. This is another thing you can do with your dipstick. But you won’t be able to tell unless you do this checking regularly.  I advise all my customers in my La Costa auto repair shop to always check your fluids.  People are familiar with checking for oil.But their transmission fluid is something they need to check also.  This way they can tell if their fluid is leaking.

If you perform these steps on your car you are making sure your transmission stays in good condition.
