The year 2011 has offered its share of excitement to the UK both in a positive and negative way. It took a lot though to override the aftermath of joy and pleasure that not only the citizens of the UK enjoyed but the world over. The broadcast coverage of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and his bride Catherine Middleton was most definitely the crowd pleaser of the year. There is nothing like a Royal Wedding to life the spirits of a country that has its own share of problems. Then Scotland certainly provided the public with an additional Royal Wedding when the Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Phillips exchanged vows with her new husband, the well known Rugby player Mike Tindall.

The memories that were created by these two pleasurable Royal weddings was soon to be pushed to the background for many though as a result of the riots that erupted in some of the UK major cities during the month of August. It poses serious problems for UK officials who were in the midst of implementing some Police cutbacks to ease the financial burden on the country. These actions resulted in the need for some expertise from the USA by getting a street crime expert involved. His findings didn’t provide an easy solution however, as his opinion was that arresting those involved was not an end to the problem. There was a lot of negative feedback in respect to the way the Police handled the rioting situations and this has opened up more doors for trying to find a resolution. It would seem that the riots were as a result of the public opinion of the mishandling of a shooting incident that occurred. These circumstances are making it tough on the financial decisions that were being contemplated which involved cut backs in the police force.

The year 2011 to date has not shown any indication of financial ease for the country. It is still reeling from the effects of a harsh weather beginning to the year. Unusually cold temperatures and large snow fall resulted in putting a great strain on the Country’s finances. With the country not being exposed to severe weather such as this it simply was not financially prepared to handle the costs that this type of weather creates. The news media provided ample coverage as to the impact that the weather was having on the Country in respect to inferior snow removal capabilities, and the added danger that the public was exposed to by the snow and cold. These conditions are naturally still fresh in the minds of the residents of the UK, and no doubt there are concerns about the weather for the end of the year as well.

These issues may be a little easier to handle if there were viable solutions on the horizon for them, but there doesn’t seem to be any indication of this. Although these three issues are significant they may be easier to deal with if they were all the issues that the UK were dealing with which is unfortunately not the case.

In an effort to go green, a lot of people have started recycling everything that they possibly can. This is especially true of paper. There are so many different uses for recycled paper, and you may not really realize where you have seen recycled paper. It may not look like it has been used before, which makes it more difficult to spot. However, it is important to understand that recycled paper is all around us- at both work and home.

One of the biggest uses for recycled paper is to make paper bags that can be used at your local grocery store or supermarket. These bags can be reused over and over again. Even when they begin to fall apart, you can recycle the paper and they can be processed and used again and again and again. You can sometimes find logos on the paper bags that say that they were made with recycled paper. Look for the logos.

Many packaging materials are also made out of recycled papers. This includes papers that are used to package things that are to be stored or shipped. It also includes cardboard boxes that are used for a variety of different uses. The thing that you must know about the packaging materials is that they are usually made of the lowest quality paper out there. This is because they are just used for safe and effective packing and storing of certain goods.

Within your office, you may notice that the paper that is used in your printer and fax machine is made of recycled paper. Office paper is recycled from a higher grade quality paper than some of the rest of the paper goods out there. You ask yourself how the paper can be so white still? The answer to that question is simple- in most cases the paper is bleached to make sure that it looks clean and white, even though it has been recycled.

While these are just three of the most common ways that recycled paper is used, you have to realize that there are many more. If you think about it and look out for logos showing that things are recycled, you will find that many products are reused to make new products. Recycling is a great way to preserve nature’s resources and ensure that the earth will be a great place years down the road- even for our children and theirs.

The Insinkerator Badger 5 is a tough, albeit standard garbage disposal unit. Like other standard garbage disposal unit, this model rests underneath the kitchen sink and is meant for grinding up food waste that’s been tossed down the drain. With a tough ½ HP motor, this garbage disposal is a middle of the road product. It’s certainly not restaurant grade, but will serve most families who don’t abuse their garbage disposal quite well. It also needs a 120V power supply connection and will only work with 1.5 inch drains. Consumers wishing to install it on a dishwasher drain will also be pleased to find that it has a fitting included. Also included with the garbage disposal is a limited 2-year warranty.

Good For The Environment

One of the great things about garbage disposals like the Badger 5 is their positive contribution to the environment. From small bones to fruit rinds, by liquefying this waste instead of dumping it into a landfill, the burden we create on the planet is minimized by way of less garbage bags, fuel to run garbage trucks and more.

Parts & Perks

The Insinkerator line of garbage disposals is well known for featuring high quality parts and the Badger 5 is no exception to that rule. This is likely why Insinkerator garbage disposals are the best-selling on the market today. Here are a few of the product parts and perks that set the Badger 5 apart from the rest:

- This particular garbage disposal has an ½ HP heavy-duty induction motor with Dura Drive. Add to that its galvanized steel construction. It’s also great with the space-savings, since it’s designed to be so compact.

- It weighs only 14 pounds and runs on a conservative 120V. It’s also quite conservative with water.

- Less service is needed since the bearings on the unit are permanently lubricated.

- The unit features a quick lock sink mount for easy installation.

The 2-Year Insinkerator Warranty

Of course, from wear and tear to product defects, there are plenty of ways that the Insinkerator can stop working properly. Luckily, Insinkerator garbage disposals also come with a great two year warranty that includes both parts and the labor that comes to your door to try and remedy the problem.
