Car tires need regular maintenance in order to be in tip-top shape. Otherwise, you will lose some time and money because of early break down of your wheels. Read on to find out how to take care of your tires. These ways are outlined below to help you increase the use of your car tires and reduce spending a lot of money.

Make sure to write down the information on your tire in a notebook. There is an encrypted code in your tire beginning with the letter “P”. This is the encrypted code that you will find “P” indicates the type of tires you have, while the first, second and third number refers to width (millimeters) of the thread surface, aspect ratio and rim diameter (inches). You need this basic information whenever you need to buy replacement tires for your car.

You also need to have regular rotation for your car tires. Each tire is different since there is that factor of road friction. You can check the vehicle owners manual to know the exact interval and rotation pattern you need to follow for your car.

Of course, you also need to clean your tires as often as possible. Regular checkup means you clean the wheel and the tires plus a tire pressure check and tread wear. Simply use clean water to get rid of dirt. Avoid using silicone based cleaners because this will degrade the rubber of your tire.

Finally, replace the tires when you need it to. You will know when you need to replace the tires just by looking at them. Punctured tires and worn out treading is indication that you need to replace your tires already. Once you see a straight line on the treading of your tire then it is time to replace it.

So take this information and use it for longer life but if you need more help with your car you may need to call us at our San Diego auto repair shop. This includes if you need to get your car to pass a San Diego smog check service. Plus we can solve brake issues right away with our San Diego brake shop.

One of the most expensive parts of the car to be repaired is the transmission. Damaging your transmission can cost several thousand dollars. The sad thing about this is that it could have been avoided.  Of course you can completely avoid all car problems. But following these 3 tips would definitely increase your chance of avoiding it.

So the first tip would be to always observe your car. This tip is free but you should always do it.What I mean when i say pay attention is to look out for leaking fluids. Are the gears shifitng roughly?  Those are signs of problems. All my clients of my Escondido auto repair always get a list of what they should look out for between maintenance.

And the second advice is also free.  It is also something you have total control of.That is, taking care of your cars by driving well.A lot of people don’t take care of their cars when they are driving and they drive it hard. They don’t realize that they need to take care of it to avoid costly problems.  A lot of the times the cars that need to be repaired in my Oceanside auto repair shop you can tell which cars weren’t taken care of.Usually, it also means that they would spend more on repairs.  So do the right thing and take care of your car.

Final tip will cost you some money. But spending money on this tip will save you more money in the long run.And that would be preventive maintenance. You must bring your car to auto shops for a regular check up.  Just like a person goes to a doctor when they are not sick.It would also apply to your cars by taking them in to keep them running smoothly.  That way you can avoid problems. And you would also be able to catch early problems.  The earlier you catch problems the less you will have to spend.

So follow these tips wisely.  It is what I give to all my clients of my Oceanside auto repair. It can make them save a lot of money on repairs.

One of the most costly to be replaced parts of your car is the transmission. Sometimes replacing the automatic transmission is more expensive than replacing the car.So having known that fact, car owners should take more care of their cars. One way you can do that is by paying attention to what’s happening to your car. What I mean to say is that there are signs to tell you if there is something going on with your transmission. Because repairing minor problems is better and cheaper than full blown damages.

First sign you can look out for is any leaking.  A lot of times I have cars brought into my Vista auto repair shop where the problem started with a simple leak.  What you are looking for is any red leaks. If you find any red fluid leaking from your car then that is your transmission fluids.  Damage happens to your transmission if you are low in fluid. If you find out that your car is leaking red fluids immediately fiill your car up with transmission fluids.  Then take it to a shop to have the leak fixed.

Another thing that you must be on the watch for are noises and vibrations coming from the transmission of your car.  From my experience running my La Costa transmission repair shop those noises are a sign of a couple of things. It could be an indication of low fluid level.Or there is also the possibility of damaged transmission cables.Immediately have your car checked by a mechanic to see if you have those kinds of transmission problems.

Last thing that you should be on the lookout for is an overheating transmission. That will be the biggest proof that your transmission is having problems. I see all the time cars brought into my La Costa auto repair shop that had that problem.  Most of the times it was brought in too late. So, instead of undergoing a minor repair only it became a major repair.

So by looking out for those signs you can avoid expensive repairs. It is a simple task and it can save you a lot on expenses and repairs.

One auto repair for your car that is very expensive is doing some transmission repair.  It is a big part of your car.  Taking care of it is very important.  By taking care of your car you can save yourself a lot of money.  Since you can’t fix it yourself here are some ways to check it at home.By doing the checking first at home, you can verify if you really need to bring it in.

First off since I own a Vista auto repair shop I know how expensive transmission repairs can be.  So I always tell my clients to check a couple of things first. This way you can verify if it has a need to be taken in.First thing they can check is the fluid. The fluid has to be clear. If the fluid is dark or black that is an indication of a problem and they have to bring their car in.

Second thing they can check at home is to check the gear shifting. You can perform this by just shifting the gears from park to drive.  Or you can move it from park to reverse. What you are trying to see is if the gears do the shifting smoothly. What you hope doesn’t happen is a jerking motion. If you notice that there is jerking, this is a bad sign that there is a problem with your transmission.  In my La Costa transmission repair shop this is one of the big signs of transmission problems.Quite a few cars that are brought in have this problem.

Finallyl what you can check for is any leaks of your transmission fluid. This is another thing you can do with your dipstick. But you won’t be able to tell unless you do this checking regularly.  I advise all my customers in my La Costa auto repair shop to always check your fluids.  People are familiar with checking for oil.But their transmission fluid is something they need to check also.  This way they can tell if their fluid is leaking.

If you perform these steps on your car you are making sure your transmission stays in good condition.

One of the things people don’t realize is how important maintaining your vehicle is.We overlook how important these cars are that we use to drive us wherever we want.We seem not to understand that our safety is always at risk whenever we go driving. In addition they don’t even know that the car’s safety is also on the line when driving.  So here are the top 2 auto repair jobs for your car.

First off it is important for the overall health of your car to always do tuneups. What I am trying to say is to be sure that your car is scheduled for tuneups regularly.  As mentioned your car’s are big investments. If you don’t take care of it you are opening it up to the risk of severe damage.  I have seen many clients ruin their vehicle and take it into my auto repair San Diego shop after the fact.I notice that if there was just some routine maintenance performed, a lot of the problems could have been avoided.

Another reason for regular tuneups is you have your car running cleaner.  With so much emphasis falling on clean air and emmissions it is important.Because what will happen is if you don’t care for your car you will have a good chance of failing a smog check.  I have seen older cars that when taken care of pass with flying colors in my smog test San Diego shop by doing regular tune ups.I have also witnessed the opposite way as well.  Cars that weren’t taken care of fail miserably.

Finally probably the most important part of your car is your brakes. But people don’t pay attention to it all the time.  By neglecting your brakes and not maintaining it you risk bigger repair costs.  In my San Diego brake service I see cars have expensive brake repair jobs because they didn’t do simple maintenance. By just monitoring their brakes.Or if they did have some checks performed on it regularly it could have saved them some money.

Buy and sell of cars is a profitable business. It will be more profitable during times when people are on a tight budget.More and more people need to sell the cars that they can’t maintain. While people looking to buy a car will choose a used one instead of a new one.Maintenance records are very important especially now in the information age.  Mainly because used cars records are so easily viewed.  Cars maintained better will get more money. That is why it is very important for you to maintain your cars well.

You have probably seen those carfax commercials where a prospective buyer is demanding to see a cars maintenance records. That will be something not so unbelievable.  As more and more people become aware of this service they will want it too.  So if you plan on selling your car you better keep good records. Whenever I service any client at my auto repair San Diego shop I make sure they always get a record of their service. You might get surprised at how many clients think that this is not important.

It would be very very important.  For example with stricter smog laws you don’t want a car that hasn’t been maintained well.  I get cars in all the time while checking them at my smog test San Diego shop who fail because of improper maintenance. Cars that are get regular tuneups are usually the cars that can pass those smog tests.  Cars that have been neglected are the ones that fail.

It can also be applied to the brakes.  By not maintaining your brakes can turn minor brake jobs into expensive ones.  Just by doing regular maintenance for my clients at my San Diego brakes service I have been able to save them hundreds if not thousands on extra expenses. And it might also save your and others lives by taking care of these brakes.

So in this information age where records are easily kept and viewed you must make sure to keep records of all the services your car has gone through.  It will help you in the long run.

One trend that is gaining steam is when someone is buying a used car, they want the maintenance records.  People are looking to see if a used car has a maintenance record. Because you can be pretty sure that somebody who took care of their car, will have a car that will last longer. So when you have a car it is more important to keep good records.Because a lot of buyers will want to take a look at that.

So some things you can do is every time you go in to get service for your car keep a receipt of it.  In my auto repair San Diego business I make sure to give all my clients a receipt of the work that was done.  Make sure whichever company you take your car into does the same. This could be the deciding factor in whether or not you get the price you wanted or have to get something less.

Also whenever you take your car in for a tune up keep a record of it.Getting your car tuned up regularly will allow your car to last longer and run smoother. It is also beneficial in making your car pass any sort of smog test a lot easier.  In my smog test San Diego center I notice cars that weren’t tuned up regularly are the ones that fail the test.

Finallly even for getting your brakes serviced you want to make sure to keep good records of that service. This is another important part of making sure your car is taken care of.It one thing that a prospective buyer will want to look at.Because a new buyer definitely does not want to have to get an expensive brake job.  So in my San Diego brakes service I make sure to give a thorough report to all my clients.

Now hopefully you can see the value in maintaining your car is you want to sell it for a lot of money. Most buyers now want the car they are buying to be maintained.  By keeping records you can prove that you have been taking care of it.

We all know that getting your car fixed or maintained can be very costly.  When your car is new there isn’t much repairs or maintenance that you need. But as it becomes old it should be taken care of more.So let’s look at the ways to avoid spending too much when going to an auto shop.

In my auto repair San Diego shop I hear so many stories of people getting ripped off when they take their car to an auto shop. From getting repairs the car does not need or from paying amounts that are way expensive, these things happen all the time.So what are the ways to avoid this?Maintaining your car in a very good shape is the best thing you can do.  Don’t wait till a problem happens.Keep it in a good condition.

One of the best ways to keep your car in shape is to have regular tune ups. This will prevent you from headaches to due expensive repairs. It will also keep the engine in tip-top shape. You can avoid expensive repairs if you keep your car tuned up. Not passing the smog test is one the problems caused by not properly tuning up your car.  I have seen older cars in my smog test San Diego shop that if they were taken care of they would have passed the smog test.  This can lead to many more problems.

The brakes are another part of the car whih are getting neglected. A lot of people are surprised by a part of their cars-the brakes. It suprises then when they see the bill for its repair and maintenance.  Believe me, I see the look on the faces of my customers of my San Diego brakes service when they see how expensive it can be.But if they just took good care of the brakes of their car they could have avoided it.

The bottom line is take care of your car if you want to avoid getting ripped.Having less problems if a car is regularly maintained is wrong for shops to say.

One of the things that gets so often overlooked is a car’s maintenance.  That is the wrong thing to do considering how dependant we are to our vehicles. Because without properly maintaining your car can cause you a lot of problems. Problems that will your pockets. But also problems that will bother you if your car is unusable.

Let us proceed to the steps in taking care of our cars as a whole. This is from my experience running a auto repair San Diego  company.  You want to keep your car running good as a whole.

The first priority we want to look at is in keeping your car running smoothly. It is a simple step but it will make your car running smoothly.  You will be able to keep your car for a long time. Not doing it will lead to problems like failed smog check.  I have seen it time and time again in my smog test San Diego shop.

So the simple thing you need to do is change the oil.  Also you want to make sure you do tune ups.  By doing these two things you will keep your engine running smoothly.

Maintaining the brakes should be your second priority.  This is important not just for costs but also for safety.  I have seen a lot of accidents from failed brakes doing business with my San Diego brake shop.  So the things you can do is keep the brake fluids filled. You should also know the proper way of using your brakes. Instead of suddenly breaking, you should press it slowly a good distance from the object in front of you. Observe these steps and you’ll be surprised how long it can last.

So by following these couple of maintenance tips will go a long way.You can keep your car for a long time and running smoother.
