Is The 6250 Vantage Vue For You?

Since going on the market in 2009, the 6250 Vantage Vue Weather Station has proved very popular. To put it in a nutshell, the over-riding reason for the success of the 6250 is because it gives so much for its relatively modest price. It is a $400 weather station slogging it out with the big boys.

The figures for barometric pressure on a $1600 home weather station go from 28″Hg to 34″Hg. The 6250 Vantage Vue starts lower than this. Also, the 6250 Vantage Vue delivers with an accuracy guaranteed to +/_ 0.03″Hg, identical to the more expensive model.

Humidity data updates of 60 seconds and 50 seconds for indoors and outdoors are not bettered by any popular weather station.

The accuracy is also comparable on inside temperature, outside temperature, rainfall, wind speed and wind direction. The majority of home weather stations, no matter if they cost $340 or $1699, cannot, on average, deliver greater accuracy.

The 6250 Vantage Vue Instruction Manuals are very easy to follow, this being typical of Davis Instruments. As a consequence, installation is found to be easy by every customer, as a study of customers’ comments confirms.

So how far will the Vantage Vue transmit? You would think, wouldn’t you, that the Davis Instruments 6250 Vantage Vue would have a reduced transmission distance from the Integrated Sensor Station to the console? Not so, as the 6250 will send its radio waves up to 1000 feet, no different from the Pro2 or Pro2 Plus, its more expensive brothers. You will find that your 6250 will transmit 2 to 3 times further than any station in the same price range and even some dearer ones. A recent 6250 customer relates that he took his external equipment 100 yards from the building and made certain that the signal had to pass through a several walls before reaching the console unit. There was no reduction in signal strength. The reason for this great performance is due to the innovative use of ‘frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology’ in Davis’s weather stations. Here are a sample of the observations from customers about the 6250 Vantage Vue Weather Station:

  • “Had mine since October 2009 and absolutely no problems”.

  • “The Davis Vantage Vue Weather Station is at the low end of their products but is still far above the competition in quality and features”.

  • “It was easy to assemble and mount on an 8 foot pole atop my roof deck”.

The 6250 Vantage Vue Wireless Weather Station is your logical next step if you started with a cheap model. If your budget is $300 or so, beg or borrow the extra to get your hands on this one. A number of schools whose funds wouldn’t stretch to the Pro2 series, have been more than satisfied with this weather station.
